Poppy McLeod's mentoring profiled in PeriodiCALS

To encourage mentoring, Poppy McLeod populates her Group Communication Lab with graduate and undergraduate students and encourages them work closely together. This results in the undergraduates developing a deeper interest in research and the grad students honing their own mentorship skills. At the same time, McLeod learns from both, finding inspiration in their ideas, experiences and perspectives on research and life. Read more

Sue Fussell wins VPIA ICC Grant

Prof. Sue Fussell won an Internationalizing the Cornell Curriculum (ICC) grant from the Vice Provost for International Affairs (VPIA). The $19,937 award is to be used to develop an international component to an existing class, which Sue will apply to her course, “Computer-Mediated Communication (COMM/IS 4450/6450).

Poppy McLeod receives $9,910 ISS Grant

Prof. Poppy McLeod (in collaboration with Prof. Alicia Orta-Ramirez, Food Science) received a $9,910 grant from Cornell’s Institute for the Social Sciences. The project title is “Contributions of Undergraduate Team Experiences to Professional Preparedness.” Read more

Jonathon Schuldt & Jeff Niederdeppe awarded Town Creek Foundation grant

Congratulations to Professors Jonathon Schuldt and Jeff Niederdeppe, who won a $77,120 grant from the Town Creek Foundation for their proposed research on the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. Professors Schuldt and Niederdeppe are Principal and Co-Principal Investigators on the grant, which is entitled “Examining Links between Marylanders’ Opinions toward Agriculture, Health, and Sustainability-Related Policies in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.”
