Jon Schuldt wins Cornell Engaged Curriculum Grant
Jon Schuldt received a Cornell Engaged Curriculum Grant to support his course, Taking America’s Pulse (Govt/Comm 3189). The course pairs students with community partner organizations to create and conduct a national-level survey to help partners meet their strategic goals. He is PI on the grant, which includes Peter Enns (Government), Stephanie Slate (Cornell University Survey Research Institute), and the Environmental Defense Fund.

Neil Lewis, Jr. did a live broadcast on NPR's "All Sides with Ann Fisher" where he and The Atlantic's Adam Harris discussed his recent research on what we can do to help students from disadvantaged backgrounds succeed in college.

Lee Humphreys receives Institute for the Social Sciences grant
Lee Humphreys received an ISS grant for a cross-college Qualitative Methods Working Group. The goals of this working group are to increase the coordination and collaboration among Cornell faculty who teach, employ, and develop qualitative research methods; increase the visibility and awareness of qualitative methodological opportunities among the social sciences at Cornell; and enhance the social science qualitative research methods training at Cornell. Bringing together scholars from such disciplines as Anthropology, Communication, Development Sociology, Policy Analysis & Management, STS, Sociology, and City & Regional Planning, the Qualitative Methods Working Group will create a space for interpretive social scientists to build community and share resources across Cornell.

Poppy McLeod named Kenneth J. Bissett '89 Professor of Communication
We are overjoyed to announce that Professor and Chair Poppy McLeod has been named Kenneth J. Bissett ’89 Professor of Communication.
